First Equipment Company (FEC) today announced its official launch as a centralized equipment rental and site services provider, built to support construction projects across the United States. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Turner Construction Company, FEC expands on a proven model that has already delivered measurable benefits on complex, large-scale projects.
FEC was established to simplify and strengthen how equipment and site services are sourced, managed, and supported in the field. By integrating procurement, operations, logistics, and customer support into one dedicated organization, FEC provides contractors with a streamlined, reliable equipment experience that enhances productivity and reduces administrative burden.
With its formal launch, FEC now extends those services nationwide, supporting more than 40,000 trade contractors who work on Turner projects annually. In addition, FEC will offer equipment rental and site services to other general contractors and trade contractors throughout the U.S.
FEC’s comprehensive offerings include heavy machinery and operating equipment, temporary power and lighting, office and restroom trailers, fencing, and site controls. By centralizing these services, FEC provides clear points of contact, faster issue resolution, and enhanced coordination across project teams.
“First Equipment Company represents a strategic investment in delivering greater efficiency in the field,” said Shannon Hines, Senior Vice President. “By creating a consistent, streamlined equipment experience for contractors, we’re helping improve productivity and supporting stronger outcomes for our clients.”
Staffed by experienced equipment professionals embedded in local markets, FEC combines national buying power with on-the-ground expertise. The organization manages sourcing, logistics, administration, and issue resolution, enabling project teams and trade partners to focus on execution, safety, and quality.
“FEC reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and partnership,” said Josh Ehlers, National Manager of First Equipment Company. “By strengthening equipment coordination at the project level, we’re helping drive better results for contractors and the clients we serve.”
As part of Turner Construction Company’s broader investment in enhanced project delivery, including xPL Offsite, SourceBlue, the Turner Accelerated Payment Program, the Turner Engineering Group, and expanded Self-Perform Operations, FEC reinforces a shared mission: improving efficiency, supporting trade partners, and delivering greater value across every project.
